Why Me?

There are lots of design firms eager to work for you but they don't have my experience. I'm no rocket scientist but I have built rockets. I've built nuclear reactors as well as working on the kill floor of a meat packing plant. I've built delicate armament mechanisms as well as road scraper blades. Not only did I build the machine that makes tater tots but I even operated the machine that puts the surprise inside of cupcakes. I've operated 50,000 hp turbines and flown my own plane. I've shown my metalwork in juried art exhibitions, sent some of it into space and some of it several miles below the surface of the earth. I've worked as a longshoreman, hard rock miner, and chemical plant operator.

The advantage is that I'm not stuck doing things the way they have always been done. There is a tremendous amount of crossover in all of the above technologies in my designs. I've incorporated latching mechanisms from rocket nosecones into subsurface oil tool design. My guitars were built with many of the tricks I learned from building aerospace instrumentation. Chemical plant experience led to improvements in an airplane engine accessory. A lifelong interest in photography inspired many of my engine turning patterns. Ham radio led to computers which led (eventually) to building a large CNC wood router.

I can take your ideas, requirements, dimensions and give you a finished design ready for manufacture. The output will be IGES solid model files as well as machine programming, job sequencing, and fixturing for individual CNC tools. 2D .dxf drawings or prints suitable for submission to fabrication shops are also available.
